Brewster’s Kananaskis Ranch Golf Course
One visit, one swing, one game at a time.
Brewster’s Golf, Kananaskis Ranch, is the realization of a dream held by 4th generation cowboy and entrepreneur Bud Brewster. This unique 18 hole golf course lies at the base of Yamnuska Mountain and follows the moraines of the north bank of the Bow River. The Par 72 layout extends to an unassuming 5,606 yards of play that winds its way through the rugged, tree-lined terrain of the mountain ranch that Bud grew up on. The design puts accuracy off the tee at a premium, but also provides players with several risk reward opportunities. A number of water hazards and bunkers further add to the challenge, and protect the well conditioned greens. The course provides visitors with exceptional mountain vistas and an abundance of wildflowers throughout the season.
Today, Brewster’s Golf, Kananaskis Ranch can still reflect the spirit of its founder. Our team lives Bud’s dream each and every day and is excited to share his legacy with you.

Designed to help golfers have more fun on the course and enhance their overall experience by playing from the set of tees best suited to their abilities
A beautiful setting welcomes you on the 3rd tee, where Mount Yamnuska is the backdrop for this unpretentious par 4. A pond 220 years from the tee transects the majority of the fairway, leaving only a small slice of coveted short grass on the left side. The prudent play is to lay up just short of the water hazard and have a short iron approach to the green. If you are feeling so inclined, a well struck tee-shot needs to stay in the air for a while to cover the 260 yard carry of the water hazard. Those able to carry the pond will be rewarded with a short pitch into this elevated two tiered green.
Perfectly sculpted into the natural rolling terrain, this par 4 begins with an elevated tee shot that takes players down to a plateaued fairway, before they once again work their way back uphill to an elevated green complex. There is a premium placed on hitting an accurate tee shot that will leave a short to mid iron approach. Don’t be fooled by the illusion of break on this green, it is flatter than it appears.
They say you should always save the best for last, well this is one of our best! A narrow finishing hole that demands accuracy of the tee. Beware, the further you hit your tee shot, as trouble looms, both left and right. The fairway narrows, so the best play is to leave yourself an approach shot around 170 yards to the green. This leaves you a moderately level lie from which to hit this slightly elevated green in regulation. Don’t be greedy, take a par and finish with a smile!
